PROVIDING STRONG PASTORAL CARE

At BBIS, we make sure that every student feels understood, challenged, included and prepared for life beyond the school campus. Our Student Support Services team plays a key role in this important task.

In close collaboration with staff, students and parents, Student Support Services provides guidance, coaching, resources and interventions when needed. In all that we do, we celebrate diversity and inclusion – acknowledging and embracing the fact that our students all learn differently.

With our support, we empower all learners to fulfill their individual potential. We specialise in helping students to overcome barriers to learning that may exist due to a range of circumstances – like language, learning, health, behaviour or social/emotional needs. Equally, we support students who strive for academic, social, emotional, artistic or athletic excellence.

School Counselling

Our caring, compassionate and highly experienced school counsellors help students and their families to navigate all aspects of school life.

Career and College Counselling

Planning and organising the next steps beyond BBIS can be daunting. Our extensive career and college information programme gives students the help they need.

English as an additional language

Many of our students receive support to build upon their English language proficiency. Our team of highly qualified English language teachers are here to help.

Academic Centre for Excellence

This programme exists to help our Grade 11 and 12 students reach their fullest potential. It includes one-on-one coaching and support, group workshops, and enrichment programmes.

Health Services

BBIS is one of the few schools in Berlin to have its own nurse on site – giving parents peace of mind that children are cared for in everyday and emergency situations.

Library

Our extensive library is full of materials to enrich and support the curriculum, catering to the diverse interests and needs of our students, faculty and staff.

Home Language

Our Home Language programme aligns with the IB mission to nurture multilingualism, intercultural understanding and global engagement.
