If you want to have fun while being in school and have teachers that care for you personally, go to BBIS. You will have a great education and be prepared for university. Going to BBIS will prepare you for a future career in ways you will probably not understand now. Someone who struggled in the early days is now thriving in the workplace thanks to BBIS!
I graduated BBIS in 2015; standing in front of the Brandenburg Gate and with the sun shining on the fresh graduates. I already knew back then, that I would be prepared for any university after completing the IB. Especially at BBIS I felt, students were very well prepared for their future careers. Hence, I always look back at BBIS thinking, would I have gone to another school, I would never be where I am now.
Overall, I would describe myself as a dedicated and hard-working, yet enthusiastic person. I feel I am generally quite active and generally extroverted. That is, I am always happy to meet new people. Most importantly, in my work life and in general, I think it is important to make work/studying fun. People described me as someone who brings joy to the team and pulls people towards himself by being genuinely nice and funny.
After I finished school, I completed three internships before my studies. I went to Adidas and worked in Supply Chain Management in Osnabrück (Germany) and Amsterdam (Netherlands). After, I went to Texas to work for an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) start-up, followed by a final internship with Bayer in Mexico focusing on crop science and crop protection.
I completed my Bachelors in Business Administration at Maastricht University, School of Business and Economics. I graduated with a GPA of 8.2/10 and therefore graduated with Cum Laude. Moreover, and to my surprise, I was awarded the Student Prize for the Best Bachelor Thesis in my programme. I also did an exchange year in Madrid.
After university, I did an internship with Celonis, Germany‘s most valuable start-up ever and the first company to commercialize business process mining. After that, I went to the DCSO (German cybersecurity organization).
My last internship was with Eureka by SAP S/4HANA CIC. I interned in product management with a team located in California. While I would have loved to go to the United States for my internship, COVID made this not possible. However, I was happy to meet my current boss at Eureka. He offered me a position in the Innovation Office & Strategic Projects team at SAP Business Process Intelligence. I continued to work in product management and was given a lot of responsibility from the start. I have been with SAP for almost two years now and am living in Berlin.
I loved the facilities at BBIS, always well maintained and clean. They were good in terms of equipment, spacing, and simply great! Moreover, I always felt safe! I also loved the connection you could build up with teachers, school counsellors, and even principals. I had great relationships with almost all of the teachers and now consider some of them friends. The big sports field was amazing, so many good times playing football and other games.
To be fair, not really. I did diversify my cultural experience, though. Nowadays I really value being around people I do not know or that are from different places in the world. I feel like this is also something that makes BBIS unique. So many people from all over the world. Great!
