My role at BBIS:

Teacher and Head of Secondary English

When did you join BBIS?

2016

What is your background?

I grew up in Greater Manchester, studied French Language and Literature at Sheffield University and a PGCE at Manchester University. For 10 years I taught secondary French and English before leaving the UK to move to Namibia where I taught English for 2 years. With my German wife I moved to Berlin in 2016 and joined BBIS Student Support soon after, before joining the English department. I am currently reaching the end of my Masters studies in English and Applied Linguistics. I have a 5 year old daughter.

What inspires you in your professional role?

The students’ smiles, their amazing creative ideas, and their tricky questions that keep me on my toes.

What are you passionate about?

Language learning, cooking, and football (especially Manchester City). I also love running and coaching BBIS Cross Country and Track and Field teams.

What makes BBIS special?

The forest campus, the community spirit, the diverse student body and the collection of dedicated teachers.
